Memberships

Upon graduation from college, Dr. Hausmann was the recipient of a full academic scholarship to Adelphi University Biology graduate program. She earned her Master of Science degree in Biology with Honors Distinction. During graduate school, she conducted cancer research and participated in undergraduate teaching. She taught Biology to college students at the State and City University of New York and conducted cancer research in gastrointestinal and breast cancer. 

Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Hausmann worked as a physician assistant in Internal Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Cornell Medical Center and worked in an outpatient Multi-Specialty office providing care for adult patients in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Gastroenterology and Rheumatology. In addition, to her broad training and experience in caring for children and adolescent, she has broad experiences caring for adults in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.

Dr. Hausmann is passionate about preventive and lifestyle medicine, nutrition and wellness, mental health, and youth substance abuse prevention. She is developing a program to empower and guide children and adults to make healthier choices and sustainable behavior changes about nutrition and exercise. She is a community drug prevention advocate working on programs to educate the community about the signs of drug use and addiction, and the health risks and dangers to prevent initial and continued use and addiction. She is involved with the Saving Lives Five Towns Drug and Alcohol Coalition. She was the recipient of a Citation from the Nassau County Executive for Outstanding Work on Behalf of Fellow man. 

Dr. Hausmann is married with three children and enjoys spending time with her family, community work, reading, cooking, tennis, exercising, biking, walking, photography, and traveling.
