North Woodmere Medical Care offers COVID-19 Molecular PCR Nasal Swab Test, Rapid Antigen Test and Serum (Blood) Antibody testing!

Are you experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or think you may have had COVID-19 in the past and would like to be tested?

  • Simply call the office at 516-791-9010 to inform us about your symptoms. You will be screened for COVID-19 and it will be determined if you are able to be seen in person or via a telemedicine evaluation. If you will be coming to the office with an accompanying person they will also be screened for COVID-19. Each test offered will be explained as well as the differences between both tests. The Sofia Rapid Antigen Test is $120.00 including the cost of the office visit (evaluation and consultation), follow-up with the physician, and administration and collection of specimen. The cost of the office visit evaluation and consultation with the physician and follow-up for a Molecular PCR nasal swab is $95.00.  The cost of Serum Antibody testing is $95.00 including office visit, consultation and follow-up. The processing of COVID-19 Molecular PCR Nasal Swab and Serum Antibody testing at Northwell Health Lab is covered by most insurances. 
  • You will then have the opportunity to schedule an appointment. Sofia Rapid Antigen Test and the Molecular PCR Nasal Swab are done in an outside well-ventilated private area behind the office. Serum Antibody testing and Molecular PCR Nasal Swab can be done at Northwell Health Lab or in the comfort of your home by Northwell Health Lab.
  • All pre-registration is done on-line prior to coming for your visit.
  • Upon arrival at the office please call the office from your car to inform us that you are here. Please wait in your car until called. We will call you back within minutes to ask you to come to the back of the office. 
  • The initial intake will occur on the phone or telemedicine.  
  • Informed consent will be explained and obtained and the patient will be given the opportunity to ask questions.  
  • A mask covering your mouth and nose is required. Patients 2 years and above are required to wear a mask covering mouth and nose. Please come with a mask. Masks will be available upon entering the outside area if needed. 
  • Each patient and their accompanying person will have their temperature taken with a medical grade contactless thermometer.
  • Once you enter the testing area there is no waiting area, no wait time and their are no other patients in the testing area.
  • Contactless purell hand sanitizer station will be available at entry and throughout the inside and outside office setting as well as signage explaining the CDC requirements for wearing a mask, social distancing and hand hygiene. 
  • Social distancing is maintained except when the physician approaches the patient to take your temperature, perform a physical examination and obtain the swab.
  • The physician will evaluate you in full medical grade protective gear including mask, gloves, gown, goggles and face shield.
  • Sofia Rapid Antigen Nasal Swab Test results are available in 15 minutes.
  • Molecular PCR Nasal Swab will be sent to Northwell Health Labs and results are available within a few days.
  • After the Rapid Antigen Test is performed you will be asked to wait in your car. Dr. Hausmann will call you as soon as the results are available to explain your results, any further testing necessary, give you guidance about next steps, symptoms to watch for, and warning signs/when to call 911. Dr. Hausmann will provide detailed COVID-19 education and counseling to each patient about what to expect if you are positive/negative, CDC guidelines for informing close contact about your positive result, quarantine guidelines, how to protect self, others and your home and much more. She will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions and provide follow-up.
  • If you have any questions or need to speak with Dr. Hausmann during the period of awaiting your test results please contact the office and ask to speak with Dr. Hausmann. 
  • Dr. Hausmann will contact you once the Molecular PCR Nasal Swab results are available from Northwell Health Lab and provide the same detailed guidance and education as described in the above paragraph. 
  • The testing area will be disinfected with EPA approved CDC recommended medical grade disinfectant against coronavirus and other viruses and bacteria prior to the work day, before and after each patient, throughout the day and at the end of the work day.
